Portal Eventing in MSS not working with VC

We have written a VC component that wants to subscribe to the event raised by the General Information web dynpro in MSS. I want to to pick up the chosen employee number and respond to it.

I've read OSS note 1112733 and have entered the namespace and event name accordingly but it doesn't work. I beleive I need the parameter name that contains the passed information. the OSS note doesn't contain the parameter name.

I've written others that do successfully subscribe to events but never to this SAP raised event.

Can anyone help?

I've also tried using the example in SAP Note 1112733 in VC without success.

I have a simple iView that contains an Input Signal called selection_changed with the EPCM Event urn:com.sap.mss.employeesearch. The Input Signal opens a form that shows a test message. When I click on a person in the Team Picker nothing happens in my iView.

I've tried adding the parameter name PORTAL_EVENT_PARAMETER which I extracted from the blog recommended by Anagha but this seems to make no difference.

Has anyone managed to get this working ?

we have exactly the same problem.....WHAT IS the PARAMETER name
