Hi Prasanna,
you might want to take a look in the knldiag.err file, as the knldiag file is obviously (re)written with information pertaining to the last restart.

Hello,
I cannot find anything during timeframe when the maxdb went down.Actually there is nothing updated in the knlddiagerr file.
It only has the following message during that time:
Starting GMT 2009-06-09 18:33:23
However, It appears that x_server was not running.I found the below in sm21.
Database error -10709 at CON
> Connection failed (RTE:connection refused: x_server not
> running)
Can we know reason for the xserver going down from anywhere?
thanks,Prasanna
Hi,
it seems quite strange that you do not see any errors within knldiag.err that might explain why your liveCache instance was down at the time and a restart was needed. If there was no crash or anything remotely similar, somebody triggered liveCache to go down manually? You might want to check dbm.prt, dbm.utl and lcinit.log / lcinit.his to see whether this was the case.
Regarding the XServer, you should have a XServer protocol file with the /sapdb/data/wrk directory.
Regards,
Roland
P.S.: which exact liveCache version (incl. Buildnr.) and OS are you using?
