Background job delay problem

Former Member

Hello All,

I am facing one issue and need your help and suggestions.

I have ran one background job which normally took 8 hrs to complete( monthly job).

but last month it tooks around 16hrs to complete for the same number of records.

do we have any way to check why that job has taken this much time?

also could you please suggest what could be the possible reason for such delay?

i have checked the job log nothing much detail is there except the job success message. checked the system log (SM21) find no issues in that.

any help on this is greatly appriciated!

Thanks

Regards

Anand Sugandhi

Hi Sugandhi,

Please check on the following.

1) Recent changes in master data which is relevant for the job

2) System performance

3) Any new products added

4) Jammed queues

5) Sysfails in inbound and outbound areas

6) Master data error

7) Improper confirmation of any transactional data

I am sure your scenario will fit under any of the causes.

Hi Anand,

It is normal that jobs may take more run time than expected. Because may be there were many other jobs running at the same time. so, livechace useg was almost 100%.. and its caused delay to finish jobs. you can check the run time of other jobs at that time period, I hope it was more than expected.

But if it is not, but that particular one then may God help you.

Thanks,

Hi,

It may be because of Consistrency performance of live cache. Before running the job in the background do the consistency check for the live cache. Transaction is /n/sapapo/om17.

Hope this will help you.
