DR server maintenace

Dear All,

I am testing my DR server. i have resotred my full offline backup to Dr successfully. now i want to check it by making it onlne once. when i am starting the database, it is started. But when i am starting the lsnrctl, it is giving me error...

I have done some changes, but no luck. The error is still coming . But the error is changed now in trans.log..

Hi,

I think the error is pretty clear.

You have installed an UNICODE kerner but your database is NOT UNICODE.

Download and apply the proper kernel (not unicode)

yes, if you remove the unicode kernel directory from your path, it will work.

adapt .* files from your home directory.

Hi,

These error messages are often a resource problem.One of the following resources may no longer be available:

memory

processes

sessions

enqueue_locks

Please refer SAP Note 384839 (ora-12540, tns-12560, tns-12500, tns-12546). It contains a list of all possible reasons that may lead to this particular issue and also a step-by-step analysis leading to a possible solution in each case.

Have you changed your SCHEMA user id's password by sql? If yes then you need to change it using BRTools as changing password using sqlplus not updates in table SAPUSER. Thats why you need to chaneg shcema user id password using BRTools.

Dear Ankint,

Before data restoration you have to check both llistener status (PRD,STDY). Now You already restored database so check service name on STDY server.IF you want to modify u can do it. Otherwise you can create service by oradim utility.

Check OS permission,user,Group of listener.ora ,tnsnames.ora.

IF still you are not able to start listener then you can create fresh listener by netca utility.

Might be helpful above.

Database_name should be same as primary but u can change service name on standby.

alter system set service_names='<name>';

If you are using AIX/Linux go

<oracle_home>/bin/netca

select service name and do until succesful finish.

Dear all,

my lsnrctl is started successfully by changing the ip in place of hostname in the tnsnames.ora & listener.ora files.

But while starting sap by startsap all, it is giving me error

ABAP Database is not available via R3trans

although i have started the database already.

starsap all terminated with error

/usr/sap/PRD/SYS/exe/run/startdb: Terminating with error code 16
DB startup failed.

plz suggest now, what i have to do ..
