Delta in FI-SL

Hi all,

Delta update is not available in FI-SL.

How can we update newly accumlated records in FI-SL.

'pseudo delta' used.

The update methods Full Update and Delta Update are available for the transaction data DataSources 3FI_SL_*. However, the delta method is available only in the standard of R/3 Release 4.70 (R/3 Enterprise) and above. In R/3 Releases 4.0B to 4.6D, you can use note 328197 to implement the delta method. The delta method delivers only actual data.

If the delta method is not available, or if it would take too long to implement the note, you can set up a pseudo delta method as follows:

It is recommended that you use a full update in the InfoCube(s) for all closed posting periods.

Look in the OLTP IMG if you want to see whether a posting period is open or closed: Financial Accounting ? Special Purpose Ledger ? Actual Posting ? Posting Periods (lists open posting periods)

For all posting periods that are still open, a full update in the ODS is recommended. These records should also be updated in the InfoCube(s).

After the transaction data records for open posting periods in the OLTP have been changed, the records are transferred again into the ODS. When you use the delta function in the ODS, only new and changed records from the ODS (the delta) are updated in the InfoCube(s).
