hi,
i want to clear defference between ALE/EDI in SAP R3 and SAP XI .

can u plz give me reply

As far as integration between SAP systems are concerned i do not think so that you will need much of integration logic(as both are already much more compatible).
But when we consider integrating SAP and non-SAP systems then XI can abstract the integration logic.

SAP XI is just not used only for integrating ALE/EDI.
Intorducing XI would clearly abstract the integration logic from application logic and also in future when we need to integrate any application we can use XI which results the knowledge in one spoc which makes any EAI architects job easy..!Since integration logic resides in one system the sustanenace and understanding the integration becomes relatively easy.

Hi suresh,
Simply because SAP XI provides you a single point of integration.
When it comes to ALE settings between SAP systems, for each pair you need to have indivijual ALE settings which could be complex in a landscape with many sap systems to be integrated.
Hope it is clear for you.
