SAPRouter connection with SAP market place

Hi BASIS EXPERTS,

Need to configure SAProuter, So that SAP support team can access my server and register it. We have 2 methods:

-Secure network communication (SNC) via SAProuter software to deliver

software encryption

- Virtual private networks (VPN), which provide hardware-level

encryption

http://service.sap.com/Internetconnection

But I need to install the SAPRouter first. But according to the scenario given for SNC: The router is outside the firewall and the SAP server will be inside the fire wall. IS that mean we can install SAPRouter on any machine which we can be kept outside firewall.

is yes? The how to install the SAPRouter in a diffrent machine, as in the installation process of SApRouter, I can see the procedure of creating directorysaprouter: <drive>\usr\sap\.

So do not able to understand the process.I have seen the links:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4f/992dab446d11d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm

http://sapbasis.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/sap-router-installation/

https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/Internetconnection

Could anybody help me ragarding this?

How to build a connection between server and SAP support, so that they can access our server?

Thanks

Manisha

All that info is at

https://service.sap.com/saprouter

Including the installation guide and scenarios.

For SNC, ideally your saprouter should be installed in the DMZ, read technical specifications at,

http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000234692&_SCENARIO

Hi Juan,

If i will go for SNC, i need to install the SAPRouter in DMZ.

But according to SAPRouter configuration I need to create directory saprouter in the directory <drive>:\usr\sap. (According to : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4f/992dab446d11d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm)

Is that means there already exist SAP instllation in that DMZ machine. Does that mean that

the SAp server will be outside firewall (the sever i need to connect to SAP).

Thanks

Manisha

No, that doesn't mean that... just means that if you don't have a /usr/sap/ directory you'll need to create one. I did this installation a month ago.

Hi Juan,

Thanks for your reply. Could tell me the process from the begining?

what will be the worklist to do on DMZ like:

1. SAPRouter configuration

2. Registering the SAPRouter

3. Create Internet connection

If i will install SAPRouter in the DMZ, then according to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4f/992dab446d11d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm

I need to RUN saprouter.exe& niping.exe , Should these be copied from other SAP server to DMZ machine? As the DMZ machine is not a SAP Server.

And what about the SAPRouter latest versions available in market place, this is a .SAR file which can cot be unzipped in DMZ, that means I need to unzip it in SAP server and copy those to DMZ?

I am not getting the exact process for the DMZ, Could please help reagarding those points?

Thanks
