Material determination/substitution

Hello guys

please help me to configure material determination for below requirements

1) Prompt the user to sell older materials before newer ones if stock exists

2) Prompt for replacement/alternative products if stock does not exists of the material entered

Hi,

Material Determination is used to swap one material for another.It is possible to get a list of materials for substituiton,but remember you can substitue only one material from the list.

spro--> basic functions -->material determination --> 1. maintain prerequistics for material determination (same as like pricing procedure) 2. assign procedure to sales doc types 3. define substitution reason (OVRQ)

create material in MM01

Click the Variants Icon on top left-Sreen opens

Specify different materials you want to swap with the material you have enterd

Note that the subst reason is already copied on the screen

sap menu --> sales & dis -->master data --> products --> material determination --> VB11 create

Hi

Craete a Condition record for Material determination(VB11).

Choose Reason of Substitution - 0005 (Manuall).

In the substitution list , assign the same material in no.1 position along with other substitutes.

For example, for material M1, substitutes are M1, M2, M3.

Now when you will enter an order for material M1, system will give you a pop-up of all the substitutes

along with their available quantities to confirm that Requested Delivery date.

Here both of your requirements will be met.

You can see the stock of the oider material (original material ordered) as well as the substitute materials(newer material), from which you can choose the required one correctly.
