Hi,
I have a req. as whnever my cleint attaches drawing in DMS in SAP
the same needs to be saved from SAP to his Document server.
How to do this as i am new to DMS.?
Rgds & Thanks
dear
your question is not clear.
still as far as i understood, i am trying to answer your question
if u have a seperate server for DMS, upload the documents into the DMS server only.
no need to upload it into SAP server.
with the integration of SAP server and DMS server u can access the documents which are to be attached to the SAP-processes.

Thnkas..
Yes the DMS server is separate.
but the problem is that client wants to upload the file into sap
from any of his networks pc's desktop (as sometime people forget to upload the file in DMS server)
and now this file once uploaded in sap must be stored physically in DMS server as well for records and storage purposes.
Can this be done,..
Rgds
hi,
Goto DC10
Difine document type, u have to set flag Kpro.
save your document type.
from CV01N, u have to creat document [DIR] with some original file ex your ACAD file.
while you Check in- y ou will get options, these are nothing but content repositories which are created by functional cunsultans with the help of BASIS.
Thre content categories u will find.
1. DMS_C1_ST Default storage DMS (main files)
2. DVS1CONT Category for DVS content objects
3. DVS1STRUC Structures for DVS
So if you want store Document in SAP DB u have to use DMS_C1_ST.
If you want store Document in CS- check Name of the category , usually start with Z letter.
Also u could check for details from this url
