Hi,
We are using Portal WinGui iViews and we are trying to find the way how to install SAP GUI client for Windows 6.40(or part of SAP GUI client required to run WinGui iViews) on user workstations using some automated tool. Could you give us some advice?
Thanks
Denis
Try looking into the SAPGUI Installation Server. It will automatically manage rollout of changes to install packages and patches. It also has an Admin install service to work in lock-down environments.

Does your company have a group that manages desktops? They may have a software distribution tool that can be used. We use SMS to manage our desktops and the SAP GUI is distributed by it also. A SAP Installation Server is created on a File Server share and then copied into an SMS package. The share could even be hosted on your portal. We don't have the bandwidth at our remote sites though, so we use SMS.

John
We are utilizing Marimba(BMC) here and we have it working. Although I have to say that the SAPGUI is not the easiest application I have ever distributed.
