Hello,

I installed the NW04s Abap Sneak Preview on Windows XP SP1 in a Vmware-Instance containing MAXDB 7.6.00.18. During the installation I got some errors. However after starting the db from the commandline with "set dbroot..." and "kernel nsp" the most steps completed sucessfully.

Now the sap-system is stopped and started by sapinst. In this step the database is started with the original database-service. However the following error occurs (dbm.prt):

2006-04-20 17:50:17 0x00000534 INF 283 DBMSrv command db_online -f

2006-04-20 17:50:17 0x00000534 ERR -24961 DBMSrv ERR_STATE: The operational state of the database instance could not be determined

0x00000534 ERR -24994 DBMSrv ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error

0x00000534 ERR -24778 DBMSrv no_id_provided_by_rte,no_text_provided_by_rte

2006-04-20 17:50:17 0x00000534 ERR -24961 DBMSrv ERR_STATE: cannot determine current db state

The file knldiag.err contains the following message. I don't know whether this is the reason for the above runtime error.

2006-04-20 17:44:11 0x664 ERR 18432 MESSAGES Event log is full, rc = 1502

Starting the database with "set dbroot../kernel nsp" works without problems, only starting with the service will cause the problem. However the installation can succeed only with the automatic way (in my point of view).

Does anybody know the reason of this maxdb behaviour?

Regards,

Daniel
