Hello Experts
I am configuring a synchronous scenario using a BPM.I am using a deadline step where i want to set a timeout of 3 seconds .But it does not allow to set the time in seconds(less than a minute). Can anyone please suggest how to configure the scenario.
Thanks
Sabyasachi
Hi Sabyasachi,
as mentioned before a time out less than 1 minute isnt possible in BPM (actually it is a timeout between 1 minute and 2 minutes because you dont know when the job for that will start).
You can put a ABAP mapping doing nothing (target = source) but waiting:
WAIT UP TO 3 SECONDS.

Hi,
for a deadline check you always need a background job (SWWA).
For reasons of performance it's not possible to run this job in periods less than a minute (even 1 minute is not recommended).
So if you need a timeout of 3 seconds you should design your scenario in another way (maybe you could work with a wait step).

Hi,
Sorry could not respond yesterday....
When we make a Sync Call the Adapter Engine takes some time to put the message in the Success status.....you can verify this in the channel log of a Synchronous communication in RWB ---> Component Monitoring --> Adapter Engine ---> CC monitoring.....and see for a channel with Sync communication....
This time is normally a few seconds (in many cases it may overshoot the 3 sec timeline...as you need)..
So I would like to suggest you to consider increasing the time limit from 3 sec to atleast a minute....suggesting only since you have synchronous mode....
In Async mode the message status in AE is marked successful as soon as the message is send to the receiver....
If you have a doubt they shoot

Abhishek.

it is assumed that for deadline it requires minimum a minute (because in case large message or peak time of system it will easily take few seconds)
so it is advisable to put at least a minute.
