Hi

That is the only thing you cannot do wrong.

You should test your backup strategy and test the restore procedures.

For your questions you have not done it so you MUST

1) Read the oracle documentation to know what to do (to actually know what restore is, what type of restores/recoveries are avaialble)

=> [Backup and Recovery Basics|http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/to_toc?pathname=backup.102%2Fb14192%2Ftoc.htm&remark=portal+%28Books%29]

=> [Backup and Recovery Advanced User's Guide|http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/to_toc?pathname=backup.102%2Fb14191%2Ftoc.htm&remark=portal+%28Books%29]

2) Read the SAP/BR* documentation. Restoring/recovering is not something to "click, click" without thinking

=> -> [Backup and Recovery|?rid=/webcontent/uuid/1cc71b42-0d01-0010-7f91-f352b58078cf] [original link is broken];

3) If you think a little you would realize that you cannot do a recovery from DB13

Before doing Restoration of Backup. First check Backup status by brtools. then analyze the error.

easiast way to restore backup is Restore offline backup by Brtools. or if u r confident in Oracle then do restoration by redolog file.

Brtools is the best utility to perform Restoration.

Thanks

HI,

Read Help before restoration.U can restore either brtools commnad prompt or db13. but

prefer through command prompt

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e6/f3d0ed99634078be2da254b97104d7/content.htm

read oracle backup/restore from oracle url.

I indicate that this is not possible. You indicate that is possible.

Could you indicate how to restore via DB13?

Except when you are restoring and recovering one file, usually (not always) your starting point for restoring is a stopped DB.

I'm not aware of any DB13 option to restore (and I do not think it would be logical to have one)

DB13 uses the "OP user" <sid>adm, for proper recovery it is necessary the ora<sid>

But, it looks like you know something I do not know, can you share that information with us.

Thanks

Asif,

You can restore the database by using BR*Tools.

Check below link for how to restore and recover your Oracle database with BR*Tools.
