Configure Mail

Hello everybody,

I have only net connection and Fixed IP then can i able to configure the Outgoing Mail from SAP?

if yes, please guide me how to configure the same? if No, tell me what are the pre-requisite for the same

you also require SMTP server , if you are using window OS then you will get it on CD otherewise install SMTP server from any third party source.

after that configure SMTP in SCOT.... then after you can send mail from SAP directly.....

Hi,

Basically when you are going to send mails to external mail ids from SAP your SAP system NEEDS tcp/ip Connection to the Mail server and the SMTP,which is port 25/tcp,in most cases .And all the correct ports need to be open on the firewall.

Mail Host->the SMTP server host name

Mail port ->usally it is 25 for SMTP

icm/plugin_<*> = PROT=SMTP,PORT=<prog>(25)

U have to change this bcs of outgoing mail.

icm/server_port_<*> = PROT=SMTP,PORT=<port>

You have to change this parameters for incoming mail.that means to say that if u want mails from outside to sap then u have to change this parameter.

Check whether the communication type SAPconnect is set for all communication methods that offer the communication systems connected using SAPconnect. You can check it from SCOT, Settings-> Communication methods.
