KB 931308 in microsoft.com is still dated October 11, 2007 (Revision: 1.8).

but downloaded file is dated 2009-07-22 (??)

Yes - because you save the file at that date to your harddisk.

How much memory has the server configured?

How much memory is used if you check task manager?

we're experiencing the same high paging problem.

In the past, we succesfully applied the 931308 or the 941796 hotfix.

In the newer Windows 2003 server R2, the patch is not working, that is because the file that is replaced ntoskrnl.exe is a newer version that doesn't include the fixes of the 931308, and can't be replaced with the old one.

We have servers with 4, 8, 16 and 32 GB RAM all impacted with the problem.

Looking foward to hear from you soon

Markus, two examples:

a. Server with 32 GB RAM configured, and 10 GB free according to TaskMan

b. Server with 6 GB configured, and 2 GB free.

This is the same case reported by Boris Ancic above.

Thanks for your help.

I don't think there is a solution for this problem but reporting it to OSS (BC-OP-NT) or upgrade to Windows 2008.

Hi All,

Has anyone found a solution for this issue? I have tried the note 1009297 and applied the hot-fixes mentioned therein. My problem still persists.

I posted this issue to SAP and here is an extract of what I got in response.

Extract Begins---

From SAP Support perspective we recommend you review the SAP NetWeaver

I would send the message back and tell them, that you applied the note and the problem is not resolved. From a support perspective it's pretty convenient to just tell people "get educated" - but since that problem is not because of bad education but because of a possible OS issue all education won't help in that case.

Insist on a solution, if that doesn't work, call the CIC and ask for a different message processor.

This fix wasn't included in windows 2003 sp2. So a server with sp2 will have a newer version of the fixed files but without the fix. You should download the fix again from microsoft. The new download will be post sp2 version.

Hi,

If I had received this answer from SAP support, I would be very angry.

SAP support is getting worse at he same time it is becoming more and more expensive.

I remember 10 years ago when the support was local in my mother tongue and when we actually had met the support people in person...

You should insist for a real answer !

Sadiq,

This note tells that the servers shows high paging out rates in at least three successive hours even though sufficient memory is available.

It also tells that this is known issue in Win 2003 servers & you should consider implementing the solution provided by Microsoft (fix KB 931308).

Your OS team will work on applying this fix. Just check whether this was applied in your servers or not

If you see your latest earlywatch report, this point must be mentioned in the report.

Thanks,

sushil
