HI experts,
i am very new to XI and have an expericnce in j2ee and ABAP.i have some basic doubts in xi.
i heard that we can also start the XI development framework from sapserver using abap transactions.does it mean that whole frame work is developed in abap.
can u give certain guidelines how to start xi
and proceed furthur.
Thanks in advance

Hi Naidu,
SXMB_IFR i guess contains a reference to the start page which runs in the browser. From this start page, you have access to the individual applications of XI. Its not that you are calling the IR or ID directly from here.
The tools of SAP Exchange Infrastructure are implemented both as ABAP transactions and Java applications.

Hi Naidu,
in XI ABAP and Java are both absolutly required. Most development (design and configuration) is made in Java surface (Integration Builder). The values are cashed in the ABAP stack, so during runtime mostly ABAP stack is involved. Except mappings. They are executed in Java Stack. Except ABAP mappings. And so on. The adapters are written in Java. Except HTTP and IDoc. The monitoring is in the ABAP stack. Except Runtime workbench. Just accept: It is a mixture. Who else than some indian guys could setup that?

Udo
Hi Naidu,
You can log on by either typing the URL at the browser or using SAP logon. When you logon to the xi system, you can use transaction <b>SXMB_IFR</b> to launch the integration builder.
For more info about XI you can go through this link:

Hi,
You can start the XI from ABAP stack but all the development you will be in Integration Repository and Integration Directory.
From following weblog, you will get all the transaction codes and urls.
