Hi All ,

After installation of NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 system in distributed manner in which SCS and DB instance are on one host and CI is on another ,i am facing issue with profiles import.

All profiles are in the SCS directory on SCS host .Have performed support packs etc.

But now i am trying to import the instance and start profile ,system is throwing error that

================

Instance profile
<SCS_host\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\SID_DVEBMGS15_Host Could not be read. The import is therefore not possible.

Start profile
<SCS_host>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\START_DVEBMGS15_Host Could not be read. The import is therefore not possible.

Instance profile
<SCS_host>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\SID_DVEBMGS15_Host Could not be read by file; Therefore could not be checked.

================

Checked the permissions for files and also for sapmnt for SIDADM and SAPServiceSID accounts ,both have full access.

Pls suggest if you have any ideas to resolve!!

Regards

Ajay

Issue was with longer host name.Limit is 60 characters.

We shorted the host names of the server and now its working.

Thanks for the intrest.

Value for DIR_PROFILE is
<SCS_Instance>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile

OS version is Windows 2003 .

Yes ,i can access the above path from CI server.

Ajay,

It sounds like an issue with the UNC path length.

Can you try mapping sapmnt to a drive letter (ex. Z) on the CI.

In your start profile, change to the following:

DIR_PROFILE = Z:\<SID>\SYS\profile

And then restart SAP.

If still an issue, please paste the contents of your current start profile?

Hope this helps!

Value for DIR_PROFILE is
<SCS_Instance>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile

I think this is incorrect... I think it should be
host\sapmnt\<sid>\profile

What OS are you using?

Ajay,

Do you mean you are trying to import from RZ10?

Did you try reading the files from the OS level of the CI server, using the same path?

<SCS_host\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\SID_DVEBMGS15_Host

What is your value for:

DIR_PROFILE

Also, what OS version are you on?
