How to move the material to a new division

Hello experts,

We want to create a new division and want to move some materials to the new division. How can I do this?

Also, how can block the material to be sold in the old division?

Hi,

You can change the division in MM02. But please be careful about these things :

Business area is related to division, check with FI guys to do this setting.

For old division Block these with MM06.

Apart from the suggestions given above, please note if the same material is being used in other plants within the same company code, then whatever changes you make is applicable to them also. As you would be aware Basic Data1 and Basic Data2 views are at Company Code level and whatever changes you make here will be applicable across all plants within that company code.

Business Area concepts Most of the FI Consultants are not using as they are

Profit center accounting

so Consult with FI about the Maintained Profit center and come to a conclusion

Hi,

1.Check the existing division Business area which is based on Plant and Division and new division should belong to same Business area.

2. Stocks are managed on value basis, so stock should not exists in current period or in the Previous period.
