Connection time out while parsing web.xml

Hello,

we started to migrate (currently on WAS 6.4 SP11) an Oracle ADF webapplication which is running fine on Tomcat 4/5 and JBoss 3/4.

The application is successfully deployed. But when we access the site we get a java.net.ConnectException.

We guess that the WAS want to download the web-app_2_3.dtd as defined in the doctype of the web.xml. The problem is that the application server isn't connected to the internet.

Now the question: How can we stop the WAS trying to download the dtd? Can we put the file somewhere in the ear/war file or in a directory of the WAS?

Hello Daniel,

I don't think that the WAS is trying to validate the descriptors. From the stack trace it looks like the application framework that you use is trying to connect o the Internet. There is a property of the web container service called ValidateDescriptors but it is set to false by default.
