What is MDM customer master strategy implemented in case of CRM, R/3 and other systems in CMDM scenerio.

The Customers are created centrally in MDM and sent to all the systems?

or

The Customers are created as Business Partners in CRM first and then they come to MDM and gets created as Customer.

or

something else ?

What and how you done in case of your implementation experiences ?

HI,

CMDM Scenario,

Data has to be Loaded from other system and duplicates can be eliminated.

All new Customer data will be centrally created in MDM and it will be syndicated to CRM,ECC...

Reg your later question - The Customers are created as Business Partners in CRM first and then they come to MDM and gets created as Customer;

This is not a CMDM scenario. It is a normal Consolidation Scenario as Data is not centrally created in MDM.

Thanks

Hi

what is the data model for customer repository based on? Is it replicating ECC data model or based on business partner structure as defined in CRM?

Ideally speaking the data model in MDM should contain attributes which are present in both ECC and CRM. Are you also using ecommerce portal for capturing the customer details? Please give mored details on the solution landscape, that will further help in replying.

Hi Sandesh,

In CMDM scenario, the procees that is followed is as below:

1. Consolidation: You have to first get the existing ECC data in SAP MDM, and do the required operations for getting the complete standardised deduplicate Master data.

2. After this, in a typical CMDM scenario, there will be a front end, like SAP EP, the purpose being that the material number and other mandatory field are created here. You have to set validations here, so that a duplicate record is not created.

3. Only once the validation / approvals are given, the record will be created in SAP MDM. So, this takes care of maintaining right Master data.

The above can be achieved by using Guided procedures in EP.

The below will help you to have a clearer picture:

Hi Sandesh,

In CMDM scenario the customer records will be created in MDM & then syndicated to all othere target

systems. Before doing this activity we need to bring all the target system records to MDM (consolidation) cleanse the data so that we have a correct & propere master data in MDM.After this activtity the cleansed data in MDM should be syndicated to target systems.

After the above mentioned activities the new records will be created in MDM only.

Hi,

Once initial loading is done(all the data from ECC, CRM, other systems into MDM), New/Updated Customer masters are created/modified Centrally in MDM and syndicate them to respective systems.

Hope this may help you,
