Hi
Please can someone advise the significant differences between a Prod Ord (Created) and
Prod Ord (Released)
And what are the effects/relations of each of them to Dependant demand in APO SNP for a products BOM components.
I currently have a product where the Ord Res for the BOM component only appears against Dependant demand key figure in APO SNP when the Prod Ord is Released
Thanx
Keegan
Hi Keegan,
Prod ord (c) is prodction order in created state which is generated by system during conversion of PPDS planned order to production order. Whereas Prod ord (R) is production order in released state which is released for production by the planning personnel after considering all availability checks and as per requirement dates. The Release order is not carried out by system but it will be done manually at shop floor side considering all constraints.
Once the order is released, the dependent requirements will reserve the stock of its components and the SNP key figure gets updated.

Hi Keegan,
The Basic difference between Production Order created and released is that you cannot do any transaction like Goods confirmation GI etc. unless the Order is in the Released status.Once the order is released even the componenets in the order cannot be altered or changed. If you want to for example change certain components in the Prod Order then you have to cancel release make changes and then release the order again.
Hence once the order is released the order is ready for Execution.
Trust this answers your question
Thanks
Harsh

Hi Guys
Thanks for the response, your answers were helpful.
However I do have the above mentioned settings in place and it works correctly for most products, I however have just a few products that are setup the same as the products which work correctly, but these do not reflect the dependent demand of BOM components in SNP until the Prod Ord has been released.
What would cause the Product not to reflect dependent demand of BOM components in SNP until the Prod Ord is released?
Thanx
Keegan

Hi,
I am beginer to APO.
Pl. check the Order type customization, what are all the settings made, while Creation / release of order.
Generally, certain activities such as issue of material has been set, only after the release of order.
Pl. check once again the IMG setting.

In addition to what Senthil has mentioned
The ATP Category on the order element at
Header product Component product Requirement Element
Production Order (Created) Dependent Demand (AY)
Production Order (Released) Order Reservation (AU or AV)
Check the category group assignment for Dependent Demand keyfigure in your SNP Planning Area.
The Dependent Demand keyfigure 9ADMDSE for 9AMALO aggregate will have Category Group assignment DS1 as standard. DS1 has AU, AV, AY and EL Categories details of which are below
ATP Cat Catergory Description Category Type
AU OrdRes Order reservation not withdrawable Requirements
AV OrdRes (W) Order reservation withdrawable Requirements
AW OrdRes Order reservation not withdrawable Receipts
AX OrdRes (W) Order reservation withdrawable Receipts
AY DepDmd Dependent demand Requirements
AZ DepDmd Dependent demand Receipts
So if you have some other Category Group assignment which does not have AY in it. So unless the Production Order is Released you do not see the component requirement in Dependent Demand keyfigure in Interactive SNP.
Hope this helps.
