Hi all,
when i try to create a category for a service product for SLA, the pre defined set types are not getting populated for me.
I have created a new hierarchy, assigned to product and product type.....
but still when i create a category the list of predefined set types are not getting displayed.
Can anyone help this issue.
kindly advice in this regard.
Thanks,
Subhashini.
Hi David,
There is no filter available for this i think. But somewhere some setting is missing so it is not taking the set types.

Subhashini.

Hello,
I don't know if it can help anyone (thread seems to be quite old now) but the problem I had on our system was that I was trying to create my own category. However, you can apparently assign set types that are not assigned to other categories. And in the standard system, set types like COMM_PR_SHTEXT for example are already assigned to SRVC_ROOT.
So I used SRVC_ROOT instead of creating mine.
Seems to work fine...

Hi David,
The Same steps only i followed but this entries are not coming for me. I dunno why it is not coming for me.
I dound that there is std category available with al this set types. may be becos of it, it is not coming for me.
It is better to use the standard category with the set types i think.
My doubt is, is the set types came immediately as soon as u assigned the hierarchy to application.
I am using solman system with SP 18 but i dont think so the problem is because of the support pack.
if you have any suggestion also kindly let me know.
it will be helpful.

Subhashini.

Hi David,
This is what i did.
For Creating a Service contract. First Service Product has to be created.
For a Service product this hierarchy and category are the base.
The Procedure is as follows.
1. Use tcode comm_hierarchy to create a hierarchy.
2. Once hierarchy is created goto Environment assignt product as the hierarchy created and product type as service and the hierarchy name beside it.
3. Then we need to create a category , assign the product type as service.
4. then in the set type tab, the following set types shud come using f4 help
COMM_PR_SHTEXT Descriptions General 10
COMM_PR_LGEXT1 Basic Texts General 20
CRMM_PR_SALESA
Sales: Control Fields,
Quantities
Sales 10
CRMM_PR_SALESG Sales: Groupings Sales 20
CRMM_PR_TAX Taxes Sales 30
COMM_PR_LGEXT2 Sales: Texts Sales 40
COMM_PR_SRV Basic Data on
Services
Service 10
RMM_PR_BTR Transaction Control
Fields
Service 20
CRMM_PR_SRVENT Default Values for
Service Contracts
Service 30
but some of the set types are missing. I dunno how to trace out.
kindly check it.
Thanks,
Subhashini.

Well, I checked your steps, and as I am not too familiar with these transactions I'm not really sure how to help out.
All I can see is that I have 11 entries in the field you mention
COMM_PR_UNIT
COMM_PR_SHTEXT
COMM_PR_LGTEXT1
CRMM_PR_SALESA
CRMM_PR_SALESG
CRMM_PR_TAX
COMM_PR_LGTEXT2
COMM_PR_SRV
CRMM_PR_BTR
CRMM_PR_SRVENT
CRMM_PR_SRVDUR
I know this may sound stupid, but if i understand correctly what you're trying to do it might have something to do with a filter that needs to be turned off.
