Rohit,

Just to add, standard maintenance for Oracle Version 9.2 ended on July 31, 2007 (refer to SAP Note 925871).

The chargeable phase of Oracle extended support began on July 31st, 2008 for Oracle Version 9.2 (refer to SAP Note 1110995).

You can continue the installation with 9i client & later you can upgrade the Oracle release from 9i to 10g according to your need.

Thanks

Sushil

Sergo

We have installed Oracle9.2 and the client version that we are using is 10.2

Will this be a issue?

If you use Oracle 9 database then you need 9 client, byt why you use oracle 9 ? It's very old, use 10g instead.

Sergo is this error due to Oracle 10 client version then?

An Oracle 10 instantclient cannot connect to an Oracle 9.2 database.

Yes for your sap release you need use or both 9.2 or both 10g in same time.

As i know now only 10g supported (but you can install 9.2 if it really need)

If you want to use Oracle 10g database and Oracle 10g client you need

- a 640_EX2 kernel

- an installed instantclient (10.2.0.4.x)

All other kernels (6.20, 6.40, 640_EXT) do not use the 10g client.
