I have one user (of which I am aware) whose screens come up partially in German, regardless of which PC he is using. Other users can login on the same PC and see the screens in English. I have set his default language to EN and this has no effect. Am I missing something?

Did you check transaction SU01 or SU01D? On the Defaults tab, there is a Logon Language.
Check and see if it's DE instead of EN. If you change it to DE, make sure the Logon Pad as well as and sessions are closed and then have the user re-try it.

I would check table USR01 just to make sure. I have found inconsistencies in what is listed SU01 and what is actually listed in USR01. If it's not consistent, I would just save the record again to force the change. You could also request your security team to delete and recreate the user id to see if that resolves the issue.
Hi, can you explain step by step what you see ?
1) user is logged on the computer under his AD username.
2) hi start's the sap logon.
3) in this time all are in german ? then you need to change the logon settings for the sap logon , not user setting , navigate to top left square --> options --> in language set your language, restart saplogon.
Or you have all in german after you login in system ? Can you check are other user's try's to login in same system? because the priority are --> zcsa/system_language in rz10, if it set in german, you will see german by default. Can you explain and recheck your problem more clearly ?

We figured it out. Turns out, the user was complaining about the SE16 field names, NOT the rest of his screens. So when we set his parameters to user "Field Label" instead of "Field Name", he was very happy. If only we could get users to accurately describe the symptoms they are experiencing!
