R/3 to BW

I need to send an IDOC from R/3 to B/W using XI.

What are all the interfaces that B/W has to receive the data ? ( like in R/3 we have RFC or IDOC)

Whats the communication channel I need to use between XI and BW.

We are on WAS 6.40

any pointers, any related blogs?
