SQL server stoped

hello experts!

I have installed ECC 5.0 on my Desktop It was working fine. deleted temporary files which was created while installation 'TEMPDB.TEMPDB.MDF' after this my SQL server is not getting started.

I check Log in Interviewer there is error log.

17204

FCB : Open failed: could not open device H:\TEMPDB\tempdb.mdf for virtual device number(VDN) 1.

please give me some solution.

Hi Rupesh,

The file that you have deleted is not a temporary file,it is the Temp DB database of SQL server which is vey much needed,now you will not be able to operate the database

do you have the backup of TEMP DB file,if not I think you will have to reinstall it

Just stop all SAP and database services and then try starting the MSSQL server database and see if it recreates the file

If yes,then you will be fine

If no,then you might try copying the file from some other database and then try starting it

HI Rohit!

I had just copied TEMPDB folder form my other system and paste to asked location and now it's working.
