One cluster node failed.

Recently i have occured a problem when starting the SAP System in cluster. It reported the error:

Description:

The SAP<SID>_00 service was unable to log on as cowealth\SAPService<SID> with the currently configured password due to the following error:

Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Service: SAP<SID>_00

Domain and account: <domain name>\SAPService<SID>.

This service account does not have the necessary user right "Log on as a service."

User Action

Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this. If this computer is a node in a cluster, check that this user right is assigned to the Cluster service account on all nodes in the cluster.

If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the user right appears to be removed, a Group Policy object associated with this node might be removing the right. Check with your domain administrator to find out if this is happening.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

So one node started, and one node failed in cluster. I guess the account <domain name>\SAPService<SID> got something wrong, does anyone could tell me which group should this account belong to?

Thanks and Best Regards,

James

Thank you for your answer, i have checked the event view, and see some log like this:

Description:

DCOM got error "The service did not start due to a logon failure. " attempting to start the service SAPPRD_<NR> with arguments "-Service" in order to run the server:

{EFC29CC1-A03C-11D0-A1F2-0000F62893CC}

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Description:

The SAPPRD_<NR> service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not start due to a logon failure.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

So anyone who knows the user "SAPService<SID>" belong to which system group? Should i add this user to group "Administrators"?

Best Regards,

James

Check the logs from event viewer. you can view the logs from by right click on my compter then goto manage-> Events. there you can check the possible error logs of application, system and security.

Check logs in the time frame when you started the system.

Thanks
