Hi,

We are on SAP R/3 4.6 B with Oracle 10.2.0.4 and want to do a Homogenous System Copy to change the SID...

Is Homogenous system copy possible for SAP R/3 4.6 B with Oracle 10.2.0.4?

Is it Possible?

4.6B is not released with Oracle 10g:

Downward-compatible release for earlier SAP releases

A downward-compatible release is not available for earlier SAP releases (SAP R/3 3.1I to SAP R/3 4.6B). As a rule, only SAP products are released for Oracle 10.2 that are at least part of SAP Extended Maintenance in 2007. This does not apply for SAP R/3 4.6B, for example, and therefore, this SAP release is not generally released for Oracle 10.2.

Homogenous system copy is possible for SAP R/3 4.6 B with Oracle 10g.

yes, it is possible. for backup/restore solution, a user-based document is available at:

http://www.basisconsultant.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=185&func=fileinfo&id=10

you might need to register to download it, though.

Hi Rahul,

Yes, It is posible. While installing your target system the system will ask you for the new SID.
