how to Set the J2ee engine in NWDS 7.1

Hi,

I want to know how to Set the J2ee engine in NWDS 7.1.

Can any one help me setting it.

Hi Swathi,

Click on Windows in the Toolbar on NWDS 7.1.

Then click on Preferences. You will see a pop up.

Click on SAP AS JAVA. You will see a grid with a button on the top right side : "Add a new SAP system"

Click on the "Add a new SAP system" button and then enter the details of the SAP system. You will be prompted to enter the following details the hostname and instance number.

Hi swathi,

to set the j2ee engine , u need instance host and instance number ...

window--> prefernces --> SAP AS JAVA --> here u just need to give the instance host and instance number.

for getting instance number and instance host , u can get the details from NWA .

login to NWA --> configuration management --> Infrastructure --> System info ...

here u will fins the sap server host , instance number , http port etc ...

please xplain ur query in detail.

Hi,

login to NWA (Http://<server host>:<server port number>/nwa) as Administrator.

login as administartor and in nwa, u will find the Java engine properties in System info.

provide the host and instance number .

Hi Swathi,

Go to NWDS -> Window -> Preferences -> SAP J2EE Engine

Select radio button "SAP J2EE engine is installed on remote host"

enter details for

Message Server Host and Message Server Port.

Message Server Host: It is nothing but the SAP J2EE server host name. You can give ip also for this.

Message Server Port: By default it is 3601 / 3901. You can find the correct information in Administration. You should have admin access to see this information.

To know the msg server host and port

If you have adimin permissions, Go to the http://httphost:httpport/index.html open System Information link. There you will get all the information regarding hosts, ports..etc..

if ur question is regarding setting the instance host and instance number , then go to Window--> Preferences .. here u will find SAP as JAVA .. click new SAP instance .. in the pop up window give the instance host and instance number ...
