error while upgrading GRC5.2 >> GRC5.3

Dear,

I have undeployed all the components of GRC5.2 from SDM.

And deployed the GRC 5.3 components from JSPM as below:

RAR(CC) successfully

CUP(AE)successfully

SPM(FF) successfully

but I am getting the error for ERM(RE). The log file for deployment of ERM with errors as below:

Hi Mohammad,

Please check upgrade guide which is available at service marketplace - Installation and Upgrades-SAP Access Control-Access Control 5.3 - AC53_Upgrade_Guide.pdf.

You are getting error in ERM -

Uninstall Role Expert 5.2

For all support packs, uninstall the following components:

AEWFCADApproversServiceWS_5_2.ear

AEWFExitServiceWS_5_2.ear

REEar.ear

REUME.sda

After Unistalling, please install all ERM components via SDM and make sure Under Deployment Configuration -

"Update deployed SCas/SDAs which ahve any version" is checked.

Thanks for reply.

Please go through the above disscussion. I have undeployed GRC 5.2 RE as described in the Upgrade guide.

Now in deployment of GRC 5.3, I am getting error for RE because of gre\redictionary component. This is undeployable component and it is required for the RE (SAP NOTE 1174625 ) . But I am not able to get that in SDM.

Please suggest how I can get that in my deployed component list.

Hi,

Just restart your J2EE engine and try to deploy the ERM(RE) component using SDM.

Dear Sudip,

I have restarted the J2ee engine as well as ABAP engine, but that didnt solve the problem. I have got some more clue on this as:

From SAP Note 1174625 - Access Control 5.3 Java Support Pack Installation the required sap.com/grc components "db" and "dictionary files" that should not be undeployed through SDM are as:

- sap.com/grc/ccxsysdb (found and undeployable)

- sap.com/grc/aedict (found and undeployable)

- sap.com/grc/redictionary (NOT FOUND)

- sap.com/grc/ffdb (found and undeployable)

And in deployment of GRC 5.3 RE we are getting the error respective to sap.com/grc/redictionary as in error log attached above.

Please have a look on it.

Do you try to deploy the ERM using SDM?

Dear Sudip,

I tried from both JSPM and SDM, many times after and before restart the J2EE engine.

In older version of GRC5.2 the undeployeable component grc/redictionary is also not available, so at present in my component list the grc/redictionary is not available. Please suggest how to import that particular component.

As we are applying the version VIRRE08_0-20002297.SCA the size of this is 43263kb

and we also tried to apply the version VIRRE00_0.SCA of size 43096kb. Both are giving the same error.

The size of the file VIRRE00_0.SCA in my system is 46212 KB but your one is 43096 KB.

So, please download the file once again from marketplace and deploy.

I have downloaded the same component now, and the size found is 42.3 mb, but the problem is not the size, while deploying it is searching for the grc/redictionary, but it is not there in the system, so it is giving the error, (the grc/redirectory component is available in the new package). Please have a look onto the Note 1174625 - Access Control 5.3 Java Support Pack Installation

Then do one trick. Deploy the RE AC5.2 then uninstall it using SDM. Then restart the J2EE server.

Check grc/redirectory is available or not.

Then deploy RE AC5.3 again.

most likely that is an error that occurs when RE 5.3 tries to convert the database tables to 5.3 versions (so please do NOT re-install 5.2 - this will most likely not be able to work with the database anymore!).

Please check the SDM logs for table conversion errors and tell us which table goes wrong, I might have a fix for you....

Thanks to all to move our concern in right direction.

Actually in upgrading from GRC 5.2 to 5.3, in RE component one of the table conversion making that error.

The solution is to take backup of that table and removing all the records from there... then deploying RE component and move back the record.
