Dear all,
I am using INtegration Builder:Design release 3.0 .
I want to import a RFC objects and the first step is to connect to a R/3 Server. However when I input the logon information and connect, the following error occured:
"Logon failed: Could not instantiate converter: Could not initialize SAPByteToCharConverter for codepage 6200".
Sems the my target system is in codepage 6200 and the converter from unicode (my XI) to non-unicode(my target system for RFC import) failed.
Anyone encounter this problem before? Or is my setting problem?
Hope someone would help me, thanks a lot !
Regards,
Kelvin

HI,
Please check the following:
1.Unsure that the logon group entry is correct. If using SPACE, check whether it
is written in capital letters.
2. Check that the hostname and client are correct.
3. Implement section 5 of SAP Note 593058.
4. The message server must be known in the etc/services file on the
Integration Builder host. Navigate to the target system. In /etc/services
or on NT C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\services, find the entry
for the message server, for example sapmsE14 3614/tcp. Enter this in the
services file of the XI server (or the services file of the Integration Builder if
distributed installation has been used).
Also the RFC FM shud be remote enabled.
Thnx

Hi KL,
1. Select First Radiobutton import the IDOC/RFC in IR
2. Pass the SID of target system and Client Number then Save.
3. now lefthand will appear Import Ojbects now select this one in Right click option pass the Target System IP Address not server name(ex:10.240.12.12..this IP is your sap system IP Address ) and System Number .
Pass the User name and Password with Capital Letters and try once....

HI Venugopal,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I did before as what your instructions described but still got the codepage converter error. I also read some posts that need to pass user/password in Capital letter, I even created a new account with Capital user name and password but still in vain.
Any more suggestion that I can try ?
Thank you, Kelvin
