Solution Manager Work Center.

Hello Experts.

I have been interested in the work center concept in Solution Manager 7.0. We are implementing SAP Solution manager 7.0 on the AIX platform with Oracle Database.

I read in one of the documents that for Solution Manager workcenters, windows platform was a prerequisite.. Is this right ?

Can we continue using workcenters even on the AIX Platform. IF so what are the challenges that we may face. Would appreciate if some experiences and error messages are also shared.

Hi Farhad,

I think you mixed something up. Windows is a prerequisite for your client computer where you use sapgui to connect to your solman. We are running our SOLMAN on AIX as well and the workcenters are working without any problems.

Work Centers are not for windows only.

All you need to do is activate the correct webdynpro pages in tx SICF

After that assign the correct authorization to the users, roles starting with SAP_SMWORK_*

After that, work centers should be working.
