What are the differences between SAP Netweaver 7.0 and SAP Netweaver 7.1 making references to technical aspects and Business Intelligence functionality?
Thanks
Raynell
Hi,
NW7.1 is released for PI, CE.
The main technical difference which I have seen is the java VM.
As of NW7.1, SAPJVM are introduced as Java VM,
Maybe you remember in the previous version you have to download
JDK from Sun or IBM web page and install it before JAVA instance installation.
This is not required any more as SAPJVM are installed
as part of SAP installation.
NW7.1 EHP1 is already released.
NW7.0 EHP1 is also already released.
These two are surely different.
Additionally
Not related to NW7.1 but what I found on NW7.0 EHP1 is that
now dual stack installation (ABAP+JAVA) is only allowed in SAP PI and SAP MI.
SAP BS7.0 which is based on NW7.0 EHP1 (including ERP6.0 EHP4 and so on.)
also requires to install ABAP and JAVA instance in different SID.
SolMan7.0 SR1 which is based on NW7.0 EHP1 allow ABAP+JAVA installation.
