Thank you for your responses. I had installed SCM 7.0 which allows you to install LiveCache through the installation, and then I installed LiveCache again. I thought that was the problem, so I uninstalled SCM and reinstalled it (with LiveCache during part of the install) now I seem to get a different error, and it does not allow me to start the LiveCache. This is my DB59

pplication Server: cscsdcsap1_SC7_00 ( Windows NT )

1. Connect. test with "dbmcli db_state" Unsuccessful

dbmcli_command_execute_error

Error! Connection failed to node cscsdcsap1.consult.csc.com for database SC7:

dbmsrv executable not found

External program terminated with exit code 2

2. Connect. test with command mode "dbmrfc db_state" Unsuccessful

dbm_system_error

Name and Server : SC7 - cscsdcsap1.consult.csc.com

DBMRFC Function : DBM_EXECUTE

Command : db_state

When I try to start LC through LC10 i get:

Name and Server : SC7 - cscsdcsap1.consult.csc.com

DBMRFC Function : DBM_CONNECT

Error : DBM Error

Return Code : -4

Error Message : dbmsrv executable not found

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When I try to start LC from lc10 I get :

It looks like the dbmsrv.exe is missing, where is this supposed to be located? This is on Windows 2003 Server. How do I regenerate this executable?

Hello Bobby,

1.

"Error Message : dbmsrv executable not found"

"I have installed LiveCache on SCM 7.0, the installation was successful"

What is the liveCache instance version?

Update with output of the commands, run them on liveCache server cscsdcsap1.consult.csc.com:

dbmcli db_enum

dbmcli inst_enum

sdbregview -l

xinstinfo SC7

2.

"then I installed LiveCache again. I thought that was the problem, so I uninstalled SCM and reinstalled it (with LiveCache during part of the install)"

How did you uninstall the liveCache software?

Please don't delete the database software manually.

Please review the SAP note:

599129 Uninstalling MaxDB/SAP DB software using SDBUNINST

3.

As SAP customer you have option to create the OSS ticket and get SAP support.

I recommend to create the OSS ticket.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello Bobby,

1. What is the standard liveCache user of the LCA instance?

Is it LCAADM?

You set the Standard liveCache user LCAADM/password for LCA connection.

And you got database error -4008:: Unknown user name/password combination

You could not connect to the liveCache instance LCA on cscsdcsap1.consult.csc.com

with this user password.

=> the user or password is wrong

Please check it, login to the liveCache server cscsdcsap1.consult.csc.com and try to

connect to the liveCache LCA with user LCAADM::

dbmcli -d LCA -u <dbm-user>,<pwd>

< by default SAP installation: dbmcli -d LCA -u control,control >

<enter>

dbmcli on LCA>db_state

< the liveCache has to be online to run the next command >

dbmcli on LCA>sql_connect LCAADM,<pwd >

u2026

dbmcli on LCA>exit

Please set the valid and correct Standard liveCache user/password for LCA connection

in LC10-> Integration, then run tests again.

2. Please update the ticket with output of the following commands:

LC10 -> liveCache monitoring -> Tools -> dbmcli ::

a) sql_execute select * from users

< liveCache need to be online to execute the SQL statements >

b) user_getall

c) user_get LCAADM

d)sql_execute user-type=SAP select user from dual

3. Please review the SAP note 616555

4. For SAP liveCache documentation see the SAP note 767598

Hello Bobby,

1. As SAP customer you have option to create the OSS ticket and get SAP support.

I recommend to create the OSS ticket.

2.

"C:\Documents and Settings\sc7adm>dbmcli -d SC7 -n cscsdcsap1 -u control,control

Error! Connection failed to node cscsdcsap1 for database SC7:

-24950,ERR_USRFAIL: User authorization failed"

The dbm user of the liveCache instance SC7 in not control, or the password of

the control user is not control.

Please ask the liveCache admistrator or the person who run the liveCache installation

the correct user/password to be able to connect to the database.

3.

"

dbmcli_command_execute_error

Error! Connection failed to node cscsdcsap1 for database SC7:

-24700,ERR_DBMSRV_NOSTART: Could not start DBM server.

-24832,ERR_SHMNOTAVAILABLE: Shared memory not available

-24827,ERR_SHMALLOCFAILED: ID C:\sapdb\data\wrk\SC7.dbm.shi, requested size 2600

External program terminated with exit code 2"

The DBM server could not start.

Please check that you have not old dbmsrv processes running on the liveCache server first.

If you have the old shared memory files SC7.dbm.shi and SC7.dbm.shm in C:\sapdb\data\wrk

and there are NO dbmsrv processes running on the liveCache server

=> rename the two files & test LCA connections in DB59 after that. Post the results.

4.

"I have installed LiveCache on SCM 7.0, the installation was successful"

What is the liveCache instance version?

Update with output of the commands, run them on liveCache server:

dbmcli db_enum

dbmcli inst_enum

sdbregview -l

xinstinfo SC7

5.

For SAP liveCache documentation see the SAP note 767598.

go LC10, give LCA, click "monitoring", on the left panel, select administration->operation,

on the right panel, you will see "start LC", click it.

"go LC10, give LCA, click "monitoring", on the left panel, select administration->operation,"

If the dbmsrv could not start, this option is not possible.

LiveCache is not running, I ran the command:

C:\Documents and Settings\sc7adm>dbmcli -d SC7 -n cscsdcsap1 -u control,control

Error! Connection failed to node cscsdcsap1 for database SC7:

-24950,ERR_USRFAIL: User authorization failed

It looks like a User authorization error, how do I fix this?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
