Milestone without reference to Project System

Can you please explain little in detail -

Can we create Milestone billing without reference to Project System (i.e. Network) and if yes how can we do that

Hi

We can create milestone billing without project systems referrence by usind SD module milestone billing settings by creating or using the SAP provided Milestone Billing Plan option.

There are few settings we need to carry out from SD side.

Hi Friend,

For Milestone Billing you need to activate in the sales order type the Billing plan

At the item category level use TAO as the standard itemd category for the Milestone billing.

If you create a sales order with that docment type and the item category then atomatically at the item lvele u can find a tab with the Billing plan.

There you can bill the customer by setting the mile stones.

I know Milestone billing and how it is done. But I know it only with reference to Project.

My question is

Hi Friend,

Yes, you can do milestone Billign without project systems,

IMG configuration requires :-

1. Maintain billing plan types for milestone billing in OVBO.

2. Define date description in SM30 - V_TVTB.

3. Maintain Date Category for Billing Plan Type IN OVBJ.

4. Allocate date category in SM30 - V_TFPLA_TY.

5. Maintain date proposal for Billing Plan Type in OVBM.

6. Assign Billing Plan Type to Sales Documents Type in OVBP.

7. Assign Billing Plan Type to Item Categories in OVBR.

8. Define rules for determining the date in OVBS.

These are all the sales and distribution settings with respect to milestone Billing

But what I am looking for is

How do we create Milestone number in Sales Order. Like, if milestone billing is created with reference to project, so we give network no. or wbs element no. in sales order - billing plan tab.

But when there is no reference to project, in that case how do we create milestone no. in sales order - billing plan tab. What reference we should give to create milestone no.

I got the solution

In VA01 / VA01 in billing plan tab, you need not enter WBS element no. or Network no. as reference. Directly you have to enter billing plan date.
