Failed to start listener HTTPListener@5555

Hello,

I have installed the BC 4.8 on Windows 2003 server. However, it got failed during first attempt due to wrong installation kit. I have reinstalled it with new installation kit and finihed successfully.

The problem here is when I try to start the BC on port 5555; it is giving below error.

000026 [B2BSERV.0028.0012] SAP: Startup service (sap.demo.idoc:registerDemoRoutings)

000027 [B2BSERV.0028.0012] WmDB: Startup service (wm.server.db:startup)

000028 [B2BSERV.0070.0013] Failed to start listener HTTPListener@5555. The following error was encountered: [B2BSERV.0070.9009] Error starting to listen: Address already in use: JVM_Bind

000029 [B2BSERV.0025.0005] Port Manager started

00002A [B2BSERV.0025.0013] Cache Sweeper started

00002B [B2BSERV.0014.0004] No listening ports were available. Shutting down server.

I have started it on another port 5556 and is up and running but I want it to set it back to default port 5555. Even I do not find the port 5555 occupied by any application.

Please help me to resolve the issue.

Many Thanks and Regards,

Rajesh

Do you have an older BC version on the same system? If yes, then that could be one of the reason.

You may use "netstat -a" (something similar) command on command prompt and check for the process which is already using port 5555.

Hi Prateek,

Just to make you aware there is no another instance of BC. It is the only one which I have installed.

However when I have checked with netstat -a and it appeared in the list. I have stopped the application but still is there. Is there any way to stop / kill the port being used.

Rajesh

As it is a Windows machine, can't you see the process in task manager and stop it.

Thanks Prateek,

The problem is resolved after killing the process.
