Restrict Delivery creation on last business day of month

Former Member

Hi,

As the accounting closing period is getting shorted, my client want to restrict the delivery and shipment processing on the last business day of each month. In other words, they would like to have any system controls not to create any deliveries with last business date as a delivery date.

Will it possible to meet the requirement by factory calendar setting...if we define the last business day of each month as a holiday.

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sinduja

Two options are there.

One is try with delivery user exit V50S0001 where you can define a condition such that the Actual GI Date should not fall between 30th and 31st of each month. The other option is already suggested by Mr.Ravi Sankar which is you can take the help of your basis team and lock the TCodes related to delivery like VL01N, VL02N, VL10C etc.,

thanks

It seems that what you need is really not to create the orders with the delivery date on the last day of the month. No orders - no deliveries to create on that date.

Factory calendar option seems feasible, however, it might be easier to do it in a user exit. In this case it will work forever and you won't need to worry about the calendar maintenance.

Hi

The check can be set in the Delivery creation program using a userexit. While creating the delivery document (before saving the document) the system should check if the document creation date is not equal the month end date and if it is a month end date, system should throw an error message and shouldn't allow to save the delivery. But, this process makes to carry out this check while creating all deliveries. The other possible option is to lock the delivery related Tcodes on the month end dates to avoid delivery creation either foreground or background.

Thanks,

Ravi
