Dialog instance installation on ECC DRS system

Dear Gurus,

We are planning to install dialog instance (on Windows) for our DRS system.Our DRS OS is AIX.

Is CI should be up for dialog instance installation?

Also is CI instance restart taken during installation process.(automatically)?

- I think so. Dialog instance will try to connect to the message server during installation.

You might have to switch over to DR - open the DR database and start the CI. Then start the dialog instance installation.

Also is CI instance restart taken during installation process.(automatically)?

- No. CI restart will not be taken automatically.

HI Kiran,

Thanks for reply.But when we are installing DI on our ECC (systech) Application server,CI automaticlly restarted.(Installation component is SR3)

Also when we tried to install DI as an Apps of our dev server (M&M dev ) with SR3 component,it asks for instance restart.

Can you please suggest what will be the other way to install DI on our DRS(mmr3drs) without starting DRS CI.

Yes and file system /sapmnt/SID/profile should be mounted on Dialog server.

Why? CI needs not to be restart as i remeber during the dialog server installation.
