General assortment refers to the universe of articles a given site can handle.
A general assortment is always composed of different assorment modules.
An assortment module can be one of two types:
Manually created.
Example: You need manually created module for consigment sales.
Automatically generated.
Example:
Standard module. In this case a module is automatically generated for every combination of site/merchandise category.
Promotion module.
Etc.
When you list a generic article, all variants are automatically listed.
When you list a structured article all components has to be previously listed.
