Hi Experts,
This may seem like a silly question! Can anyone please explain the difference between the above? This gets actioned from the context menu on a DC.
I have noticed that a Build is much quicker than a Rebuild - I sespect that a Build is much like a "Save". But I would like to know what is technically actually going on for each.
Thanks in advance!
Christiaan
Hi Christiaan,
Build Project :
Builds the currently selected project. This is an incremental build, means that the builder analyzes the changes since the last time of build and minimizes the number of changed files.
Rebuild Project:
Rebuilds the currently selected project. This is a full build, all files in the project are rebuild.

Hi,
My answer to your question is specific to Web Dynpro DC build:
In Build following steps are carried out
DC Model check
WebDynpro generator : dictionary and web dynpro generqator are run
Java Compiler is run
WDA is created
In rebuild of Web Dynpro DC only
WebDynpro generator : dictionary and web dynpro generqator are run
