Import data to Purchase Order Item Level Text from DMS system

Hi,

I have the material PO Text maintained against the Material in the DMS system.

In R/3, when I am creating the Purchase Order, I want the system to retreive the PO Text maintained in DMS against the material in the Purchase Order and paste it in the Purchase Order Item details - Material PO Texts.

Could anyone suggest me which User Exit or BAPI and the Function Module to fetch this data from DMS.

Hi Mangesh,

The clarification goes as below:

System 1 - DMS.

In this system some specification for the MATERIAL is maintained.

System 2 - ECC.

In this system while creating the Purchase Order it is expected that the system should fetch the Material Specs maintained in DMS and populate it in the Material PO Text at the Item level of the Purchase Order.

Please carry Out Steps as follows.

1. Create Document in SAP DMS

2. Put You PO Text In Document Description

3. Link Document Created to Material Master ( Object MARA).

4. This Material will be visible in material Masters Additional Data Tab page.

Now when You Create PO and Enter Material in PO Line items,Find BAPI for Adding PO Text Using which you can device a Program to fetch the Decription from Document Description to PO Text.
