Vendor field disabled for new DC

Former Member

Hi Guys

I was able to successfully import a developmnet configuration prepared by our support team. But when I click tried to creat new DC from the context menu of SC(xyz.com_mysc) .the vendor field is DISABLED and contains the value sap.com by default. Here I need my vendor name (xyz.com) entered. Not sure why it is disabled.?

Also just in front of the dc name input field their is dropdown for dc name prefix with some predefined values(like temp/,ast/) ..I need a different value here ..where can this be maintained..?

Pls let me know..

Regards,

Ashok

Hello,

This has to be with SLD - Name Reservation.

1. Go to http://<server-name>:<http-port>/sld.

2. Go to u201CName Reservationu201D (on the right side).

3. Select u201CNew Name Prefixu201D button.

4. Define the properties:

a. Quantity: Single

b. Name Category: Select Development Name

c. Name prefix: <company.com>/<xxx> (this is up to you)

d. Purpose: Select Used by developer.

e. Owner: (your company)

f. Description: (optional)

Hope it helps,

Regards,

David.

Thanks for ur reply,

I implemented these steps and selected update configuration in NWDS.

Still when I select create DC ..in vendor field I see only sap.com and field is disabled.I cannot see mycomp.com ?

Is there any thing more to make this name reflect in nwds.

Ashok

Hi Ashok,

After making an entry in Name Reservation, just exit from NWDS and open it again. Then update development configuration. You should be able to see your vendor in new DC creation.

the name prefix needs to be "<companyname.com>/*" not just "<companyname>"
