Hi Sathish,

In addition to above, check point number 1. General prerequisites for SAP kernel WEB AS 7.0 in SAP note 888210 - NetWeaver 7.0/7.10: System copy (supplementary note)

As soon as you copy your database the BW 3.5 is gone because everything is in the database.

Yes, you can copy the kernel from System A to System B to start the system but you won't have any BI 3.5 becuase then it's BI 7.0.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for the repli ...

still i have some queries unresolved ?

if the system will be converted to BI 7.0 then what abou the BW 3.5 USER MASTER, RFC , ALE etc, that we generally retain during syetm refresh ? In this case what we should do ? please advice .

Satish,

a SAP system based on ABAP (as BI/BW) is stores EVERYTHING in the database. If you now copy the database from another system then everything of the old system will be gone of course.

You will have an exact duplicate of your source system, that's why it's called "system copy".

Hi Markus,

Generally for a System Refresh involving same SAP version, the User Master data, RFC Connection Settings, ALE Settings etc are all exported & later imported after the Refresh has been completed in the source system.

Can we obtain the Master data of the SAP System in this case?

Please let us know how we can get the data.

This is simply not possible.

BI 7.0 is based on Netweaver 7.0 whereas BW 3.5 is based on Netweaver 2004, they are not compatible.

You may copy System A to System B but you won't be able to start the system with the 6.40 kernel.
