Will Error Category & Error Code in Alert rule definition work?

Hi All

In RWB, I have few alert rules defined for IE alerts. All these rules are mapped to a single alert category.

Each of them have different Error category in 'Where did the error occur' section.

But, whenever an error occurs, all the alert rules are fired, and i get multiple alerts.

But in reality, only one alert with correct error category should be fired.

In conditions section, all these alerts are connected to a message, and i am supressing multiple alerts.

Then, why are alerts which does not belong to current error category getting fired?

Can anyone please tell me what is going wrong here?

Many Thanks

Chandra

I think it is the way you are executing the alerts rules in RWB. even we are using the same alert category to trigger many alerts...what you need to do is create a different rule for each alert that you want to fire....in RWB.....also give conditions like Sender Namespace etc....if needed/possible....this will ensure that you get different alerts (using the same alert category)

RWB--Alert Configuration --> Alert Rule Definition ....create and maintain a separate entry for a particular sender -

receiver pair...alongwith the description.
