Can someone help me in creating the Silos and taking dip readings, posting procedure on a step - by - step basis.

Also I am not clear whether the tank dips posted through O4tiger hits the stocks of material. Can somone throw light on the same ??

Hi Srini,

Dip Reading will not hit the stocks of material

Please find below the procedures of silo management transaction, inclusive of transaction:

Configuration details:

a. Storage Object Class - SPRO->HPM->Silo/Tank management->Master data->Define Storage Object Class.

This defines the, nature of the object that could be stored in a container, with this SOC. This can be a bulk, packaged goods etc. the SOC also influences, Linear to volume conversion. Identified by the usage indicator field

b. Storage Object type - SPRO->HPM->Silo/Tank management->Master data->Define Storage Object Types.

This aids, in assigning SOC to more than one storage objects. For instance, if SOC is 'Bulk', then this SOC can be assigned to a lubes or fuels which are Storage object types, as bulk is applicable for both. Certain charecteristics like strapping data can be maintained independently.

c. Storage Locations for Silo/ tank management - SPRO->HPM->Silo/Tank management->Master data->Define Storage Location as Storage location for Silo/tank amanegment (Tcode O5_SILO02).

The storage location, in which tank or silos are available, is identified in this step. Tank master data, can be created only for Plant/Storage Locations, for which the tank assignment value is set as 'M' ot 'T'.

d. Material Assignments - SPRO->HPM->Silo/Tank management->Master data->Define material assignment

To allow or disallow multiple material storage to a tank is configured in this system. This is at plant level. Some additional rules like material group check, if multiple materials are allowed can also be enablede here.

c. Volume/Height UoM - SPRO->HPM->Oil-and Gas-Specific Units....->Define Oil and gas-Specific units of measurement

This UoM is necessary for LVC, if the SOC is set as 'O', is step a.

Tank Master data:

TCode - O4NA

Step 1-

Select Object Type as 'Storage Location'

Enter Plant and Storage Location ( only stor locations, identified as part of config are allowed) and click on continue

Step 2-

In the screen launched, click on New Segment button at the toolbar and enter Storage object type in the popup screen. Click on Continue and the system would automatically pick up SOC class, based on config.

Step 3- Specifications

Click on Specifications form Edit menu. The layout of the screen launched, depends on the usage indicator for the SOC.Click on set UoMs from edit menu. The Seq no, eentered is the tank id no and should be unique, for a storage location. If not entered, the system automatically assigns value. identify UoMs for Volume and Length. The maximum capacity value can be entered manually or else, can be calculated based on LVC calculation. The LVC parameter values, identified here ( if checked) would appear for data entry in the LVC screen ( not mandatory though). Innage/ullage would be innage by default. for definitions fo these LVC paraemters please refer sap.help.com. These are correction factors that,calls for certain adjustments in the volume conversion, due to certain external influences on the tank.

Step 4-Conversions

Cick on conversions from edit menu. The Lin/Volume conversion constants screen will appear. The LVC parameters, selected in the previous screen, will appear as fields for data entry. Set UoMs from edit menu, to enter the UoMs applicable for those LVC paramters if selected, also the Volume/height UoM neds to be entered. In the strapping table at the bottom, enter the Height values and the Volume/Height Value. a minimum of three values is necessary. The lowest value and the highest value for heights will be the minimum and maximum dips resepectively. Click on Utilities -> Conversions and the system will automatically, calculate the Volume valumes and the maximum capacity value ( It will assume that the volume corresponding to maximum dip is the maximum capacity of the tank). There are certain other utilities, which can be explored.

Step 5 - Material assignment

Assign material by clicking Edit -> Assignments. it can be for a batch type/ valuation type combination

Step 6 - save the entries

Tank Dip readings:

Tcode - O4_TIGER

Set the transaction field as 'H Create tank Dips'. If preselection is necessary, it can be done and click on 'add' in the preselection frame. The values will appear in the field. Enter the total height and the LVC parameters applicable. The system will automatically calculate the corresponding volume and display it in Material Volume column. click on save to post the reading

In the same screen change the transaction value to S Stock Overview, to have a overview of stocks in the preselcted plant/storage location/seq no. combination. The corr.book stock value is the current book inventory. The material volume, based on the dip reading will appear both in base UoM and Tank UoM.

Dip Analysis

Tcode - O4_SILO_ANA_CREATE

Execute this transaction for the required organizationla data and for the required time frame. Processing Type defines, if the analysis is altogether new or else a new analysis in the time frame deleting the already existing analysis is to be done.On execution, the system displays the number of dip pair readings analysed in teh stipulated time frame.

Go to transaction O4_TIGER and set transaction as M Tank g/l analysis. The analysis report can be seen in detail. also, on click of the report a material wise report of goods movement occurenece along with the quantity, will appear in the bottom. This report can be used to reconcile the book inventory with the physical inventory ( based on dip reading).

Hi,

SIlo creation is very important process in IS Oil Please make sure that before creating silo which material is applicable for it.

For creation of SILO use transaction O4NA

First create a storage tank then assigned a maetial to that tank. It is advisable to use storage location for creating a SILO.

Physical inventory is entered by transaction O4_TIGER. By this transaction we enter physical stock oif the material. i.e. tank dip which will convert it into specified unit of measure. based on this system will compare SAP book stock and post the loss/gain.
