CAF on PI7.1 stack.

Hi.

I noticed that on our PI 7.1 installation the CAF core application is not installed by default.

Can somebody confirm this for me please.

I agree with your statement if you are looking at a productive system.

On a development box I see no problem with running CAF side by side with PI to limit your costs.?

Would it not makes sense to install it by default and then you can choose to start the app if you want to.

This is the way it was on PI 7.0.

hi,

if it worked on 7.0 then I guess it will work on 7.1 too

but the approach to save money on server (hardware - less expensive thing)

and waste money on resolving problems that can cause

is always a little bit messy for me

If CAF isn't needed on the PI 7.1 systems, then why does this appear in the NWA logs? Is this something just to ignore?

Message: Cannot get aliases for [sap.com/cafeugpuisupport]

application.

The error is:

I would like to know how to disable this message.

If we don't need this and it keeps throwing these messages all it does is filling up the log files with junk that makes it difficult to catch REAL problems.

So - how can I stop this message from being thrown if it is of no consequence?

Thanks ...

True it is a messy situation and when patching time comes along it gets even messier.

Looks like I will have to download the CE testdrive.

Thanks.

CAF is not part of standard PI 7.1 installation.

hi,

why should it be?

PI is not CE and by default you don't create applications on PI server
