PXA_NO_SHARED_MEMORY Solaris 10

Dear Experts,

I had installed SAP IDES 6.0 on Solaris 10. HW Configuration is 32 GB 4 Ultrasparc CPU, SWAP Space allocated 50 GB, In the same server i have installed SolMan EhP1 assigining RAM of 10 GB and For IDES i have assigned 17 GB RAM..

I have changed the Instance Profile parameters abap/buffersize to 50000 after that i am getting PXA_NO_SHARED_MEMORY dump..

During the installation as per the inst guide i have added the proj and user details in /etc/user_attr & /etc/project for 2 instances..

When i am checking the sappfpar it showing 3 errors found.. can you please check the below for the sappfpar parameters and let me know what are the parameters that i need to change..

I have set these parameters ipc/shm_psize_10 - 124000000, ipc/shm_psize_40 - 122000000

50000 is a VERY small value for an ERP system. I'd use at least 500,000 (or more).

The project files look good.

You get this dump because, as I said already, abap/buffersize is much too small.

Increase it to at least 500,000 (or more) and then restart the system.

During the installation i have stuck with oracle sessions issue. I have increased the sessions and processes as per the SAP Oracle recommendations .

Without OS access to check all I can suggest is:

- stop all processes of the instances (including sapstartsrv which is not stopped by stopsap). Use "ps -ef" to check that nothing SAP related is running.

- if possible reboot the machine - or at least log out all users

- login with <sid>adm and start the instan(ces)

What is the output of (as per mote 724713):

After rebooting when i try to start the oracle i got oracle out of memory

ORA 27102: out of memory

i have extended the shm memory using the below command

prctl -n project.max-shm-memory -r -v 10G -i project 600

after that oracle started with out any error messages..

Please suggest any work arounds..

If you have that this wrong in the /etc/project then it won't take effect and hence Oracle can't start...

No need to reinstall something.

Just stop the instance and Oracle (and also sapstartsrv), open /etc/project using vi and change it, then logout and login again. Then the system should start.

While saving the instance profile parameters i am getting the following the message..

Problems with sahred memory configuration detected

see Note 5076

System imposed size of shared mem segments: 50331648, required: 319488000

When search for the SAP Note it is not available . it is released for internal purposes..

Please let me know what is the issue in the Memory settings..
