migration means- moving from one place to another .. it can be your objects, server, or yourself in person......

Hi subba,

migration refers to directed, regular, or systematic movement of a group of objects from one landscape to other system landscape. if you have sap on windows you can migrate your sap data to sap on linux.

There is data migration which you can compleate with LSMW Tool provided by sap .

migration can be termed as transferring the scenario from one environment to another....suppose you have some development done in MERCATOR and now you want to replace MERCATOR with SAP XI...then you develop the MERCATOR scenarios in XI......this is called migration....hope it help you
