Hi SAP Gurus,
I'm gonna install a 4.6c on Windows 2000 SP4.
I've got a problem with r3setup.bat:
When I try to execute the setup.bat theres the error:
"extracting sap mmc components failed"
I extract the mmc.sar manually with sapcar.exe and copy the files everywherer...but it doesnt work.
I looked up in the sap.help or the web in generall and found no solutions-
So I hope to find an answer here
Tim
I copied the cds on the Windows2000 machine and working with an ADM User with local rights.
I installed the up-to-date-DLLs; adjust the virtual memory and reduce the size of the file cache. I prepared the transport host and set the enviroment variables.
But the problem is still their.
The installation is still breaking down.
The Error in the installationlog is:
ERROR 2009-05-26 09:48:16 CDINSTEXTRACTSAPMMCMSC_NT_IND InstallationDo:0
Phase failed.
ERROR 2009-05-26 09:48:16 InstController Action:0
Step CDINSTEXTRACTSAPMMCMSC_NT_IND could not be performed.
ERROR 2009-05-26 09:48:16 Main
Installation failed.
ERROR 2009-05-26 09:48:16 Main
Installation aborted.
So I thought theres a problem with extracting SAPMMC.sar- but extracting the file manually doesnt help

I just have NTCLUSCD.log next to the R3setup.log
There stands:

It seems your installation is somewhat hosed... Very difficult to assist without having access to the system. I suggest you create an OSS call and let the support have a look on the system.
BTW: 4.6c is running out of support this year, VERY old software...
Markus
Hope your installation user have local admin rights...
If you install directly from CD, can you try to copy the installation media to disk and then retry.
