Hi,

Could someone please help me in understanding key advantages of implmenting DP-BOM ( Forecasting of Bill of Materials).

I believe in SNP BOM explods and generate procurement proposals then why do we need to do forecasting of BOM componenets in advance to SNP ?

HI Amarendra,

Generally in DP we use single level BOMs and generate reports based on these.

In SNP , generating dependent demand for the longer horizons and at multiple level hamper the system performance and it is not required always.

Hi,

If you are doing mass planning and want that lower level should calculated withing DP from forecasting prospective then DP BOM will be used. SO your forecasting time will be reduced and system performence will be optimized.
